Our family-owned practice cares for pets, horses and farm animals. The main clinic is in Hay-on-Wye, and is complemented by a branch surgery in Talgarth which opened at the beginning of 2017. Our premises are modern and well equipped. The whole team, in which the practice manager has a pivotal role, is committed to providing truly excellent 24/7 veterinary care.

We are looking for an individual who is:
• An inspirational leader who can bring out the best in a team and feels comfortable delegating responsibilities where appropriate.
• Cool in a crisis, tactful, firm and scrupulously fair in order to address problems which can occur during the day-to-day running of a veterinary practice.
• Analytical and methodical in their approach to all aspects of work, with an ability to understand and manage practice finances in excess of £1m turnover.
• Confident with IT and able to adapt rapidly to work with practice management and accounting software.
• Proactive, able to prioritise, and able to manage time and resources efficiently

The practice manager has responsibility for human resources, health and safety, finance and budgeting, office administration, and debt control. You will work closely with the clinical team in maintaining our high standards of client and patient care. You will also collaborate with the business owners in developing new projects, marketing, and strategic planning: we particularly welcome applications from individuals who would be keen to help us develop and grow the business in new and innovative directions. You will have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that face a rural business such as ours and an ability to demonstrate success in previous management or veterinary roles would be a real advantage.
