2011 congress a knock-out!

‘There was absolutely nothing I could fault… a wonderful event’
‘One of the best congresses I have ever been to!’
‘I feel inspired!’

Feedback from Congress 2011 delegates

If you missed VPMA Congress 2011 in January, here’s a brief overview of what went on...

Adam HensonFriday morning was kicked off by key-note speaker farmer and presenter Adam Henson who gave an entertaining and insightful talk on his experiences as a livestock and arable farmer and as a Countryfile presenter. After autograph signing and photo opportunities it was down to business.

Anne-Marie Svendsen2011 saw the introduction of a new 3-stream approach with lectures geared towards a particular topic within the stream. We wanted the congress to appeal across the board, to new and established practice managers, those wishing to set-up practice or learn more about marketing and trends within the profession. We particularly wanted to focus on personal and team development, and our two-day intensive stream with coach Anne-Marie Svendsen-Aylott proved a sell-out.

We’ll let the very positive press coverage from the event speak for itself .

We also rang the changes in 2011 by reintroducing the commercial exhibition. We welcomed over 28 sponsors and exhibitors from the veterinary world, giving key information on services and products relevant to veterinary managers.  This proved very popular, filling the available space (so much so we’ve extended the exhibition space for 2012). Our thanks go out to all our supporters who helped to really put VPMA Congress on the map.

winnersThe social programme proved very lively. The Thursday night networking event sold out and attendees really let their hair down in our cocktail masterclass, with teams mixing, shaking and doing their best Tom Cruise impersonations! The relaxed dinner afterwards was kicked off with a cocktail quiz which saw all 8 teams score full points (which just proves that if the topic is right, it’s incredible what people will remember!)

dancingThe  black tie banquet on Friday evening commenced with a packed sparkling reception before moving onto the 4-course dinner. The annual CVPM awards were presented after which everyone danced the night away to tribute band Blind Lemon. The dance floor was packed until the very end and following the strenuous workout, the bar provided a very nice area for recovery and rehydration.
