4 New Candidates Awarded the CVPM

The CVPM exams were held at the Arora Hotel Heathrow on Friday 29th November.

In total seven candidates were enrolled to sit the 2013 examination.

The CVPM entry requirements had been revised for 2013 allowing any person who holds a role within Veterinary Practice Management to undertake the rigorous examination, regardless of prior qualification.

The examination itself consists of two sections, the first a verbal scenario based oral examination which allows candidates to demonstrate their ability to manage difficult situations under pressure. The second requires the candidate to present on a chosen topic followed by a professional discussion with the examiners based on the candidates role both within their own Practice and also questions based on a previously provided fictitious practice. This section allows candidates to demonstrate their knowledge of the six core areas of the CVPM syllabus.

The VPMA Certification and Training Committee are very pleased to announce that four candidates successfully met the criteria during the examination and have subsequently been awarded the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management.

Our Congratulations go to:-

Mrs Philippa Davis – Regional Manager, Goddard Veterinary Group, London

Mr Shaun Plunkett – Practice Manager, Cherrydown Vets Ltd, Essex

Mrs Lisa Martin – Practice Manager, The Lodge Veterinary Centre, Birmingham

Mrs Georgina Hills - Practice Manager, Vale Vets Ltd, Dursley

Certificates will be formally awarded at the SPVS/VPMA annual congress in January 2014.
