BVNA Appoints New President
Claire Fraser RVN, Internal Verifier for MYF Training in Aldershot, was elected President of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) during an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday 9th October at the BVNA Congress in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Delighted at being elected as President, Claire said: “It is an honour once again to become the President of the British Veterinary Nursing Association. The veterinary nursing world is ever changing, and I look forward to the challenges ahead over the next twelve months. Great progress is being made towards statutory regulation, and I urge members to keep in touch with me and the rest of Council, letting us know your thoughts and ideas about this, and any other veterinary nursing issues. Remember that we are here to represent the veterinary nursing profession - always".
During the AGM Louisa Baker RVN was elected as Vice President. Louisa is honoured and excited with her new role as Vice President. Louisa, who has been the Honorary Treasurer for the BVNA for the last two years, is looking forward to providing continued support for its members, and predicts an excellent future for veterinary nurses. The statutory register is one of the main issues currently in progress, with continuing support from many organisations. The standard of training for veterinary nurses has increased greatly, and public recognition is becoming more apparent. Louisa will aspire in her new role by promoting veterinary nurses, and in particular, representing the BVNA members to the best of her ability.
