CVPM 2011 Examination Results

The examinations for the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management were held on 2nd December 2011 with six candidates electing to sit either all or part of the examination.  This examination was the last available session for those wishing to take the traditional CVPM written exam. This year three candidates met the necessary standard and have been awarded the CVPM.

The 2011 CVPMs are:

Lisa Marter - The Arundel Equine Hospital

Lucy Bartlett – Scott Dunn’s Equine Clinic

Louise O’Hara – Windmill Veterinary Centre.

The candidates are managers in very different types of veterinary businesses – verification that the CVPM is applicable and has wide appeal in veterinary management. An official presentation of the awards will take place at the VPMA Congress Dinner on 27th January 2012 at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire. This will also be the first year that the Glynn Davies Memorial Award will be presented on behalf of the VPMA to the most outstanding CVPM candidate.

The Certification and Training Committee which oversee the exams has recently undergone some changes. Alison Hoy CVPM has taken over the reins of Chairperson of from the shared Chair of Peter Gripper and Rita Dingwell. This year has also seen two new examiners, Julie Beacham CVPM and John Goulding MRCVS join the Committee. The committee would like to express special thanks to Peter Gripper MRCVS who has stepped down after six years.

There are now 64 holders of the CVPM since its inception in 1996.  The next examination will be held on 30th November 2012.   Notification of intention to sit the exam must be received by 5th October 2012.

The Syllabus, Study Guide and Registration document for the CVPM should be used by all candidates intending to sit or register for the exam.   Copies are available to download from the Education pages of the website. 

There will be a lunchtime meeting at VPMA congress where interested persons can meet the examiners, followed by presentations on the CVPM and Exam process.
