VPMA Appoints New President

Helen Sanderson, CVPM, Cert B & PS, DMS, was inaugurated as VPMA President on Saturday 26th January at the VPMA/SPVS Joint Congress held at the Heythrop Park Resort.

Helen spent over 20 years working in practice initially as an Equine Nurse in a large hospital.  Following a move to Lambourn, she joined another equine practice, but working this time in accounts and the reception department. She soon found a liking for more of the management roles, so continued to develop these skills by joining a large co-operate. Following a few years as a  Business Consultant, she then became Practice Manager of a small rural mixed practice.  She has recently become the Strategic Business Development Manager for Vets 4 Pets - here she says she is experiencing the next level of practice with such a forward thinking dynamic group.

Helen lives in the heart of the horse racing community in Lambourn, and is far happier to be wearing wellies than a suit! Both her sons have the same love of horses and animals as she does, one being a professional Jockey and the other is living the dream on a cattle station in Australia.

When she is not working or showing her ex-racehorse, Helen likes nothing more than walking on the downs with her gun dog Slug, and in the winter she spends her days picking up with Slug at their local shoots.
